misson oak Arts & Crafts 3-panel room divider
one of my first auction purchases, this truly special piece was dusty and dry, and a bit creaky! over several weeks, it was disassembled, cleaned, rehydrated, the finish gently retouched, sealed with high-quality finishing wax, and reassembled. my bias for mission style furniture may be showing through, but this is a superb piece of craftsmanship, and a really handsome piece. it’s remarkably lightweight, with panels only 1/2” in thickness. 68”H x 59”W

several of the lower panels were quite badly warped, cracked, or broken. they’ve been flattened as much as they’d allow, and consolidated with glue.
the piece will benefit by a once- or twice- yearly treatment with finishing wax
